No doubt, the Fast and Furious franchise will be one of the greatest and most remembered franchises of all time. This past Wednesday, one of the biggest stars from the franchise made an announcement via Facebook that sparked new life into F&F.

According to a video posted to his official Facebook page, Vin Diesel will be part of a live Fast and Furious world tour. Could you imagine jumping from car to car while in motion? Or driving exotic cars through buildings!?

You probably won’t get the chance to jump in a car and experience the stunts firsthand; however, once the tour comes to an arena near you, you’ll be able to witness the potential hype surrounding the tour. Watch Diesel make the announcement in the video below.

“I am in New York, believe it or not, and we are filming something that is going to be pretty state of the art,” said Diesel, “something no one’s ever seen before, which is a live show. I think it’s first going to be showed at the O2 Arena in London, but it’s going to go all over the world and we’re really excited about it.”

Variety says that the live world tour will be produced by Universal Studios. The tour reportedly is slated to recreate some of the biggest stunts in the history of the series.

The live tour details are still under wraps. Be sure to check it out January 2018 in an arena near you.

HBO’s ‘Insecure’ Has Been Renewed for a Season 3!

Despite it’s current second season run, fans will be happy HBO’s Insecure has been renewed for season 3! The hit comedy will also compete with fellow comedy series Ballers, which has also been renewed for a fourth season.

Straight from the Twitter of Issa Rae— we’ll be getting a season three of her hit HBO comedy series Insecure!

Although currently in its second season run, this is great news for those of us who are still undecided as to whether we’re #TeamIssa or #TeamLawrence.

Insecure follows the narrative of Issa and Molly, her best friend, as they navigate their relationships at work and in the love department. The premise of season 2 we witness the rocky relationship (or what is left of it) after her breakup with boyfriend Lawrence who has already moved on yet still has lingering feelings for his ex.

HBO has also renewed Ballers for a fourth season, the Dwayne Johnson-helmed project which is currently in its third season.

Movie Review: Girls Trip

Check out The Original Chatman’s review of Girls Trip!

Ever since the inception of The Hangover franchise, there has been a slow yet steady rise of films in which we witness a group of friends get into some sh*t they can’t get themselves out of; however by the film’s end, the main conflict is resolved. After watching Girls Trip tonight, I can definitely say this—- Girls Trip is far from being another Hangover (no shade)!

First of all, the chemistry of  the protagonists is amazing. Jada Pinkett-SmithQueen LatifahRegina King, and Tiffany Haddish portray four college friends who reunite at the annual Essence Festival after five years of not seeing one another.

Lisa (Pinkett-Smith), Ryan (King), Sasha (Latifah), and Dina (Haddish) were sorority sisters back in the day part of their own little crew called the “Flossy Posse.” For the most part, every comedy in the same lane as Girls Trip has similar character tropes that are played out (i.e. the outlandish comic relief, the serious one, the peacemaker, and the one friend that has beef with the main character).

What makes Girls Trip refreshing is the generic chemistry between the four ladies. Most buddy films attempt to create chemistry between co-stars that comes off as hurried. The cast of Girls Trip deliver as friends in real life.

Additionally, each lead reveals a level of vulnerability often not reserved for comedies. Within the first ten minutes, comedian Tiffany Haddish’s star-power is apparent and her role demands attention that is careful not to diminish the storylines of the other characters.

Finally, four black female leads in a movies is super dope! Despite more a few more dick jokes than I could handle, Girls Trip is a trip you’ll definitely enjoy from start to finish!

Beyonce’s Wax Figure Still Has People Pressed!

Beyonce’s Wax Figure Still Has People Pressed!

Happy Saturday everyone!

It’s no secret that Beyoncé is pretty much a big deal. She sneezes and literally the whole world will bless her. No shade.

However, the shade was thrown heavily on the Internet on Wednesday (July 19th) when photos of a wax figure of Queen Bey was revealed. The wax figure, located in Madame Tussaud’s New York museum, received a slew of social media criticism after saying the statue looked whitewashed and didn’t capture the essence of the Queen.

Within the next day, Madame Tussaud’s removed the original statue claiming the issue was due to “the styling and lighting of her figure.”

On a personal note, I remember going to Madame Tussaud’s in Orlando a year ago, and the wax statue I saw definitely had zero resemblance to Beyoncé. Unlike the Beyhive, I wasn’t particularly offended; however, the power of her fans is TOO REAL. Madame Tussaud’s New York has since replace the criticized wax figure and updated it with a better one.

Peep the new statue here.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg says 2 BILLION people use Facebook–a MONTH!

CEO Mark Zuckerberg says 2 BILLION people use Facebook–a MONTH!
On an unrelated note, 2 new posts go live @ 5 and 5:15!

In the social media age, the success of every social network you currently use is measured by one thing–its users.

On Tuesday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote a short letter on his public page revealing that his company now has 2 BILLION users. Although a huge accomplishment for Zuckerberg, he isn’t quite satisfied with the massive amount of users. He continued saying he wants to “bring the world closer together.” Read the full statement below:

https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fzuck%2Fposts%2F10103831654565331&width=500

Zuckerberg’s aspirations for Facebook are a breath of fresh of air bringing attention to communities that need it the most. In a speech made in Chicago last week, he compared churches and Little Leagues to what he hopes Facebook will do in the future— help its users find a “sense of purpose and support.”

“A church doesn’t just come together. It has a pastor who cares for the well-being of their congregation, makes sure they have food and shelter. A little league team has a coach who motivates the kids and helps them hit better. Leaders set the culture, inspire us, give us a safety net, and look out for us.”

Kudos to Zuckerberg on making a splash in the world with Facebook!

Alec Baldwin Will Return to ‘SNL’ to Portray Donald Trump Yet Again

Donald Trump will have an excuse to have “Twitter fingers” again.

alec-baldwin-donald-trump-snl

Recently, Saturday Night Live alumnus Alec Baldwin  revealed that he will return to Studio 8H (where the legendary sketch comedy series is recorded) as our current commander-in-chief  Donald Trump—blonde wig, orange bronzer, and all—for a new season of SNL.

Despite the real Trump calling Baldwin’s impression of him “unwatchable”, it was Baldwin’s Trump and Melissa McCarthy’s [White House Press Secretary] Sean Spicer impression that catapulted SNL to its most watched season in 23 years.

Are y’all looking forward to Alec Baldwin play Trump again on SNL? Or are yall over it?

Did You Catch Lavar Ball and Co. on WWE Raw?!

The Ball Family Made their “WWE Raw” debut last night–and it was epic!

For those of us not living under a rock, everyone should know by now about the first family of basketball— The Ball family.

Lavar Ball may be a bit overbearing at times, but that doesn’t stop him from keeping him and his sons Lonzo and LaMelo in the constant spotlight. The NBA clashed with WWE on Monday night.

Last night, the father and son trio made an appearance on WWE Raw which was taped at the Staples Center, a place where LaVar’s oldest son Lonzo will be spending a lot of time due to him officially being a Los Angeles Laker.

First and foremost, it was a perfect opportunity for LaVar to further promote The Big Baller Brand. Although LaVar is hated by most for his media antics, he shunned all that aside and entertained us all from the moment walked out to the wrestling ring. Clearly, it was his time to shine now.

Next thing you know, LaVar is shirtless acting a damn fool–and it’s the most entertaining thing ever.

Everything went south when LaMelo, the youngest of the Ball family, heard something that shouldn’t have been caught on the mic. In a friendly yet heated exchange in which LaVar challenges The Miz, LaMelo was heard saying, “beat that n-gga ass!” on WWE Raw— alive program by the way. Of course Twitter had a field day with it.

It was a major dub for the Ball family; however, the WWE was left to clean up the mess. A statement of apology was left saying this, “The inappropriate language used by a guest during the ‘Miz TV’ segment was not scripted nor reflects WWE’s values.”

Jay Z Used Twitter To Salute His Favorite Artists

Jay Z Used Twitter To Salute His Favorite Artists

Jay Z is a man of many words—with the exception of Twitter. Jay rarely uses his Twitter, so when he does, it is viewed as a special occasion.

On Thursday (June 15), Hov released a string of tweets giving a huge nod to his favorite artists—new and old alike. The tweets followed his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

As a 47-year-old rapper-turned-mogul, we could all assume he has an understanding knowledge of Twitter; however, Hov admitted his thoughts were cluttered as he couldn’t figure out the reply button. He reeled us back in promising he wasn’t drunk.

Check the tweets below!

And then there’s more….

The fact that his wife, the great Queen B, and Obama both get a honorable mention as rappers…priceless!

Hov is the greatest of all time for this. Who else do yall think deserves to be inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame?
